About the Event

Leave the city, stay in the bay

BREAKOUT is a small, intimate tango gathering set in Kabak Bay, the quietest corner of Fethiye. Neither a huge festival nor a tightly scheduled marathon — an escape where the sea, the forest and the music set the rhythm of the day.

After breakfast we walk down to the bay, rest in the shade in the afternoon, and dance on the wooden floor in the cool of the evening. Capacity is deliberately kept small: a group where everyone gets to know each other and no one gets lost in the crowd.

Venue

Turan Hill Lounge, Kabak Bay

Kabak Bay is about 25 km from Fethiye, where a valley just beyond Faralya opens to the sea. Turan Hill Lounge sits on the slope of that valley: wooden bungalows, trails through the forest and a wide terrace overlooking the bay.

Getting there: about 1 hour 45 minutes from Dalaman Airport, 50 minutes from central Fethiye. The final descent into Kabak is steep and winding; a shuttle can be arranged on request.

Frequently Asked Questions

I have no tango experience, can I join?
BREAKOUT is focused on social dancing; we recommend at least a few months of tango experience. Short technique sessions are planned during the event for newcomers.
What is the accommodation like?
Wooden bungalows and rooms at Turan Hill Lounge; single, double and shared options are available. You state your preference on the registration form and rooms are assigned in order of registration.
Can I come without a partner?
Yes. We track the leader/follower balance in registrations and open a waiting list if needed.
How do I pay?
After we receive your registration we send payment details by e-mail. A deposit is required to confirm your place.
What is the cancellation policy?
For cancellations more than 30 days before the event, everything except the deposit is refunded. No refunds in the last 30 days, but you may transfer your place to someone else.
What should I bring?
Dance shoes, swimwear, a light jacket (evenings get cool), a torch and comfortable shoes for walking.
